Company founder Cecilie has spent time travelling around the Indoesian Islands. Her background is the finance sector in Oslo, Norway. After 7 years in the finance sector she decided she wanted a new challenge.

For over a decade, Cecilie has been a Yoga enthusiast and wanted to move herself to the 'home of Yoga' - Bali, Indonesia.

During her travels she noticed the toll on the environment that todays ’way of life’ was having and she decided that it would be good to look at what alternatives there are that society can use as opposed to plastic.

In August 2018, several earthquakes hit North Lombok, ranging from 5.9-7.0 on the Richter scale. Houses and other buildings such as schools sustained serious damage. This had a tremendous impact on everyday life and the families there. Approximately 75-80% was so badly damaged that it needed to be rebuilt from the ground-up.

 

A family that Cecilie had met during a previous visit contacted Cecilie to ask for help. Select From Nature was established with the cooperation of the family to create a business and help provide work for local people in Lombok. Select From Nature now produces a range of Eco-Friendly products for the domestic market and Internationally for Export.

Select From Nature has three main goals. These are:

Firstly, to create jobs for LOCAL workers.

Secondly to produce sustainable products. 

Thirdly to produce eco-friendly and biodegradable products.

Select From Nature has an established production facility in North Lombok. 

​

In February 2019, Select From Nature established a Non-Government-Organisation (NGO) with the purpose of providing after-school programmes that helps to educate Children in the areas of English Language and Computer Skills. For more information please visit www.ngolomboknow.com
